What is “Real-Time” and why every business should want it?
Real-Time Booking means that when someone is attempting to book your services online, they are actually booking you based on their desired services compared to your actual available time that it takes to do such a task. What it IS NOT is a form that says something like – give us a general idea of the things that you are interested in and choose a two hour time slot that you think you are free for us to do it and we will review it and get back to you as soon as possible.
Real-Time means Booked and Done. WebForms mean Delays and Waiting.
Now let’s talk about who these “delays and waiting” really hurts.
I would suggest that it helps your competition and creates more work for you as a service provider. By forcing consumers to review and then complete forms you are saying to them, “we’re to busy to want your business right now, but when we have a chance, we will compare your timeframe with ours. It’s the equivalent of calling the doctor for an appointment and being told to hold only to then come back on the line, get your number and call you back when they are not so busy. The psychological effects are chilling. In a perfect world we would all have the time to just wait around for the return call. As we all know, this is not a perfect world!
What does not having real-time approaches do to you and your company?
Well, you could always hire someone to answer the phone 24/7, 365; or better yet save the thousands that it would cost you and do it yourself. But, then again, that doesn’t allow you to do what you do best. It actually distracts you and interrupts your day. So, see how long you like that approach. Some one once told me that the key to marketing & sales is to give the consumer what they want. Seems Simple. It could be.
